Officers are equipped with body worn cameras and all patrol vehicles are equipped with laptop computers and video cameras to illustrate this commitment. To better serve the citizens of Conover, the police department has placed an emphasis on technology, education and professionalism. Since that time, the department has had 9 Police Chiefs and has grown to the current staffing levels based upon growth and the ability to maintain current levels of service. The City of Conover hired its first full-time law enforcement officer in 1926. The department takes great pride in being a service oriented police department. The men and women of the Conover Police Department are dedicated to service, excellence and working in partnership with the community.
